JOB SUMMARY
The Pharmacometrician is an expert in clinical pharmacology, having adequate pharmacometrics, statistical, mathematical and programming knowledge to develop sound and useful models to inform drug development. He or she is also involved in implementing structured and standardized data modeling practices and related SOPs, and acts a technical and scientific counsel for both internal and external clients.
Use quantitative approaches to integrate knowledge of PK, PD, efficacy, safety, patient’s demographics, and pathophysiological factors to facilitate product development and decision making
Perform population PK modeling and exposure-response modeling according to state-of-the-art methods and regulatory requirements
Participate in the development of structured and standardized data modeling practices and related Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Act as a pharmacometric consultant in clinical pharmacology study design (e.g. optimal sampling, protocol review, etc.)
Perform comprehensive quality control/peer review procedures
Author data analysis plans
Support the company pharmacometrics initiatives toward internal and external clients
Support the pharmacokineticists and biostatisticians with regards to pharmacometrics
Participate to research and development initiatives in the field of pharmacometrics, resulting in peer-reviewed publications
Maintain a sound working relationship with the statisticians and pharmacokineticists
The employee may be called upon to perform other tasks related to their skill set, and for which he/she has been trained
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
MSc or Ph.D. in pharmacometrics, mathematics, statistics or related field
Relative alternate certification may be considered acceptable
Must demonstrate good computer skills especially in the utilization of Microsoft Word and Excel and mathematical/statistical programming languages (e.g. NONMEM, Monolix, R, Matlab)
Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal skills, both written and spoken, with an ability to inform, influence, convince and persuade
Required English language level includes communicating verbally and in writing on topics that are often technical, and writing procedures or technical reports.
